Canoe and Kayak Rental Information
Annsville Creek, Peekskill Bay, Hudson River Kayak Rental Policies

- Half day is a maximum of 3 hours.
- Rentals include the boat, paddle(s), PFD(s), Skirt(s), pump, and paddle float.
- Availability of specific models will vary.
- Please read the Rental Policy below.
- Off site rental have a $25 per boat primium and must be pre-approved 7 days before by E-mail.
- Check the tides at Annsville Creek. Rentals are best three hours before to one hours after high tide.

Check the tides before coming to Annsville Center
Renters must agree to all policies.
A Liability Release/Rental Agreement form must be signed.
All rentals are at the discretion of the on-site manager.
BCU 4 Star Sea Leader or Coach Level 2 or above may take groups of any skill levels on the Hudson.
Wind speeds are based on the Beaufort Wind Scale.
Rentals policies are divided into three paddling areas;
Must stay inside the Creek.
Minimum qualifications
18 years old or with guardian (to sign liability release/rental agreement).
Must wear Personal Flotation Device at all times on the water.
Proper Dress (wetsuit, paddling jackets are available for rent).
Water Temperature above 60° F, 15° C: Anything
Water Temperature above 50° F, 10° C: Wetsuit, wind/water proof jacket.
Water Temperature below 50° F, 10° C: Dry suit
Under 14 years old add ten degrees to above temperatures.
Must stay inside Peekskill Bay area marked on the Rental Charts
Minimum qualifications
One paddler with Core Skills and Safety and Rescue skills or equivalent
Other paddlers with minimum of Proficiency skills or equivalent
Minimum group of two paddlers, one being over 18 years old
All 14 to 18 years old must have guardian to sign liability release/rental agreement
Must wear Personal Flotation Device at all times on the water.
Winds
Wind under force 4, 11 knots (actual and NOAA/Internet forecast)
Winds to Force 4, 11 - 16 knots, all members of group must be 4 Star or equivalent
Proper Dress (wetsuit, paddling jackets are available for rent)
Water Temperature above 60° F, 15° C: Anything
Water Temperature above 50° F, 10° C: Wetsuit or equivalent, wind/water proof jacket
Water Temperature below 50° F, 10° C: Dry suit
Must carry appropriate safety equipment
Spare paddle (one per group) or tow belt (one per group) or tether all paddles to boats.
Paddle Float & Pump (minimum one of each per group)
Don't paddle in boat channels except to cross the channel.
Yield the right of way to all other boats.
Hudson River Rental Policy
Can go outside of the Bay area marked on the Peekskill BayRental Charts
Peekskill Bay Qualifications Plus the Following
One paddler with Proficiency Skills or higher.
Others paddlers with minimum of Core Skills and Safety & Rescue skills or equivalent
Off Site Rental Policy
Hudson River Qualifications Plus the Following
Only plastic boats will be rented for off site use.
Must be reserved a minimum of 7 days in advance.
One person must be in charge of the group and meet Hudson River Qualifications.
The location of the trip must be approved before the rental.
One tow belts are required for every three paddler (we don't rent tow belts).
A credit card will be run for the value of the boat and damages will be charged to the renter.
Kayaks must be transported on proper rack systems to protect the kayaks.
There is a $25 per boat primium on off site rentals.
