AKT's mission is to promote the safe enjoyment of paddlesports.
We do this by sharing our experience and our knowledge, which we continuously seek to improve.
Atlantic Kayak Tours, Inc. is the largest paddlesport company in the tri-state area. We paddle in locations along the Hudson River from New York Harbor to the Albany area, and along the Atlantic coastline from southern New Jersey to Cape Cod. Our kayaks are first quality craft from a variety of U.S. and British designers. Our paddles and accessory equipment is, likewise, first rate. What makes us even more special is the talent and friendliness of our twenty plus staff members, who each year participate in skill and leadership training programs. We owe much of the success of our tours to their contributions. All of our staff were Atlantic Kayak Tours clients at one time. Our head guides and instructors are BCU certified. The minimum requirement for head guides is BCU 4 Star and for head instructors is BCU Level 2.

Atlantic Kayak Tours is dedicated to expanding opportunities for paddlers of all abilities through equal access to our programs, adaptive training, and the enthusiastic support of our staff and all who paddle with us.
Atlantic Kayak Tours was started Fiona and Scott Fairty (pictured above, left & right) along with Janice and Bill Lozano. As we enter our seventeenth season, we continue to change and grow. Our Web site has been updated with over 100 new pages. You can find detailed information here on every one of our tours and instructional programs. You'll also find informative material on equipment, cold-water paddling, and much more. Our Web FAQ can answer most of your questions. You can even download an expanded color catalog in PDF format.
As you browse through this site, we hope you will agree that our kayak trips offer more diversity than most other outfitters and at a reasonable price. Our Frequent Paddler Program is an even greater bargain.
Atlantic Kayak Tours, Inc. is owned by Janice (President) & Bill Lozano (VP). They both started paddling about 20 years ago. Janice and Bill have paddled many different areas along the Atlantic coast from Maine to Belize in Central America.
Janice is BCU 4 Star Sea, 4 Star Inland Coach 3 Sea, New York State Licensed Guide and completed the ACA Advanced Adaptive Paddling Workshop.
Bill is BCU 5 Star Sea, Coach 4 Sea, Assessor 4, Canoe Safety Examiner, Assessor Training Deliverer, has attended the BCU Injury Prevention Workshop, and also holds a BCU Open Canoe 1 Star and 4 Star Inland. Bill also holds the position of BCU North American Administrator.
