The Elaho is good all around kayak for paddlers who like a lively boat. It was the first Necky boat that competed against the British kayaks like Valley (VCP) but without losing the Necky feel. The Elaho has the outfitting we want including a low rear deck, good backband, three bulkheads, skeg and a Valley day hatch.

User Input: The cockpit outfitting makes it easy to set up for a good fit, but the back band tends to flop over when you enter the kayak on shore, or during a rescue. The Elaho has good initial stability, but is likely to feel a little wobbly to beginners. It edges easily, and has great secondary stability. Edged turns are really sharp. I think this would be a good boat to learn in – fairly forgiving, but very responsive. The boat rolls easily, but needs a good follow through or it will hang up at the very end of the roll. I noticed that the hatches were a little wet after having braced and rolled several times. BV

A snug fitting kayak with recessed deck fittings, perimeter lines, three bulkheads and day hatch, the Elaho is equipped with a rudder. The bow and stern hatches feature flush covers, effectively eliminating kick up from spray across the deck and providing a very clean, integrated look to the boat. A low stern deck, positive thigh hooks, rock solid pedals and Bomber Gear backband make lean back rolls very easy. The Elaho is also available in polyethylene construction.
