The Explorer LV, like the NDK Explorer, is a fast kayak with good stability, but is designed to fit a smaller paddler. The LV has many of the same great features of the Romany, but trades maneuverability for speed, tracking, and extra storage. The Explorer LV is a great expedition kayak that can also be paddled on day trips.

NDK says: Over the last few months there has been a demand for smaller sea kayaks, especially as the number of female sea kayakers grow. Instead of producing a new kayak I have decided to modify the Romany, Explorer and Greenlander Pro. For all of these models an LV (Low Volume option will be available.) All kayaks will have modified cockpits and reduced volume. The hulls will essentially stay the same.

The LV kayaks have been fitted with a new Keyhole cockpit rim customised to fit smaller kayakers. The rim is 3.5" (87mm) shorter than the standard and 1" (25mm) narrower with the leg braces brought back towards the paddler. All kayaks have less volume and a re-designed front deck.

Explorer fills the niche for a sleek, yet stable expedition kayak. This kayak has a long waterline, is very fast, and yet maneuverable. It carves turns gracefully. Explorer tracks well even in an adverse conditions and for long expeditions it could be equipped with VCP skeg. Its high volume bow stops the kayak from plunging into waves and together with its maneuverability allows good control in surf. The kayak is built standard with three bulkheads and three watertight hatches (two 10 “ and one 7.5? round).
