Necky, Dagger and many other North American kayaks have a flat compass area. For those kayaks this is the best compass. What we like about the Nexus 85R Marine compass is the high quality and large numbers. What we don't like about the 85R is that it sticks up very high above the kayak deck, which exposes it to damage. We do also have a bungie cord mount that this compass can be attached to so it can be used like the Nexus Marine Compass 58 - Kayak (above).
