Every rec kayak, touring kayak and sea kayak must have a paddle float. There are many different designs on the market and we normally have two or three at the Paddlesport Center. We have been using the Blade Aid for over ten years. It fits most paddles and holds up well. The Sleep Paddle Float is for long thin paddle blades.
Voyageur says: A rescue aid that should be aboard every touring kayak and every paddler should have practical knowledge of how to use a float. Our Blade Aid is constructed of our finest 200-denier urethane nylon, which - unlike many - is virtually impervious to harsh effects of salt water. Equipped with a web leash and a foam grab bar, the Blade Aid is easy to control and deploy. Single-handed inflation is enabled by our unique auto-valve - you can hold the valve in your teeth and inflate - leaving hand(s) free to control boat, paddle, etc. Blade Aid locks onto your paddle blade as it inflates. Bright yellow for maximum visibility.
