Other Safety Items

We don't understand why no one sells a Paddle Park. So we have started to make them ourselves. It is just a line and two carabineer. This is not a paddle leash. While we have been calling it a paddle park, it is the most versatile safety item we carry. The quality of the line and carabiners is what matters. The carabiner needs to be small, but open wide enough to use even with gloves on. The line must be strong, low stretch and hold a knot well.
You can use it as a Paddle Leash.Tieing two kayaks together. The avocet is the rescue kayak. Click photos for larger versions.
The left photo shows the Avocet paddle park going under the Avocet deck line and cliping to the Anas Acuta deck line. The right photo shows the Avocet paddle park going under the Anas Acuta deck line, back under the Avocet deck line and cliping back the the Avocet on the far (left) side.
We make it so it fits a medium width kayak, but leave extrea line or tie a couple of extra hitches, so it can be lenghtened to fit your kayak. If it doesn't need to be lenghtened, just cut off the extra line. If you have a very wide kayak, let us know and we will make it a bit longer. We also sell the carabiners separate. See how to tie a Buntline Hitch.
