VCP Igloo

The VCP Igloo has help keep us out of trouble on many trips over the years. Groups have energy. When things are not going great, it is important to keep the energy positive. To be able to put the group into a shelter anywhere you happen to be, allows the group to get warm and to talk in a protected shelter.

Three sizes are available. The small is good for two or three people, while we have had eight in the large Igloo shelter. This light weight, floor less, non-waterproof ripstop nylon packs into it's own attached carrying bag. The attached webbing has two uses; 1) handles used to hold the igloo down from inside; 2) Igloo can be used as a stretcher with six handles.

We have used it to allow cold wet paddlers to change in privacy, to rewarm hypothermic paddlers, and even as a makeshift porta-john shelter when there is no private place to go. No group should be without one.

GRO says: A Beach shelter made from ripstop nylon, does not require framework. Accommodates up to 4-8 people and dramatically cuts out the wind chill. Packs into a small pouch. It can also be used as an emergency stretcher.
