Everyone needs a cockpit cover when they are carrying their kayak on the car or storing the boat outside.

Neoprene cockpit covers looks the best and holds up well, but costs more. You don't get any puddling like on Nylon and PVC Cockpit cover, which can cause the cockpit cover to fall off when full of water or snow. The neoprene cockpit covers are also quite when driving on the highway.
